ScreenWise ("we", "us", "our") operates screenwise.guide (the "Site"). This policy explains what information is collected when you visit the Site, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
We built ScreenWise as a reference tool for parents. We do not require accounts, logins, or personal registration to use the Site. Our goal is to collect as little data as possible while keeping the Site free and operational.
Information you give us directly
The only form on the Site is the "Request a review" form on the not-found page. If you submit it, we receive the title name, content type, your child's age range, and any concerns you describe. This is stored by Netlify Forms and emailed to us so we can prioritise new content. We do not sell or share this information. You can request deletion by emailing us at the address below.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the Site collects standard server log data when you visit — your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages viewed. This data is retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes and is not linked to any personal identity.
We use the following third-party services on the Site. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.
Google AdSense
We display advertisements provided by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Amazon Associates
Some links on the Site are Amazon affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, Amazon may set cookies to track the referral. We earn a small commission at no cost to you. Amazon's privacy policy is at amazon.com/privacy.
Netlify
The Site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify processes web traffic and may collect server log data. Form submissions are stored on Netlify's servers. Netlify's privacy policy is at netlify.com/privacy.
RAWG and TMDB
Content data (ratings, descriptions, images) is sourced from RAWG.io and The Movie Database (TMDB) via their public APIs. When your browser loads images from these services, their servers receive your IP address as part of the standard HTTP request. We do not pass any personally identifying information to these services.
Google Fonts
The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google's servers receive your IP address when fonts are requested. Google's privacy policy governs this data.
The Site itself does not set any first-party cookies. Google AdSense sets third-party cookies for advertising personalisation. You can manage or disable these through your browser settings or via the Google opt-out link above.
ScreenWise is designed for parents and guardians making decisions about content for their children. The Site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through this Site, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Form submissions are retained until you request deletion. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. We do not maintain user accounts and hold no persistent personal profiles.
